Product Description
STAT3 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3) is a transcription factor involved in multiple cellular signaling pathways. It plays an important role in regulating gene expression in response to extracellular signals, including cytokines and growth factors.
Following activation, STAT3 undergoes phosphorylation, dimerization and nuclear translocation, where it binds specific DNA response elements to regulate the transcription of target genes.
The STAT3 Polyclonal Antibody is a rabbit-derived antibody raised against a synthesized peptide corresponding to human STAT3 around the non-phosphorylation site of Ser727. It is suitable for Western blot, immunohistochemistry (paraffin sections) and immunofluorescence applications.
Key Features
- Target protein: STAT3
- Rabbit polyclonal antibody
- Reactivity with human, mouse and rat samples
- Unconjugated antibody
- Affinity-purified preparation
- Concentration: 1 mg/mL
- Validated applications: WB, IHC-p and IF

Biological Background of STAT3
STAT3 belongs to the STAT family of transcription factors. It is activated by several cytokines and growth factors through intracellular signaling pathways, particularly JAK-STAT signaling.
Activated STAT3 forms dimers and translocates into the nucleus, where it regulates genes involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, survival and immune responses.
STAT3 also participates in interleukin-6 (IL-6)-responsive gene regulation and acute-phase protein expression.
Research Applications
- Western Blot (WB): Detection of STAT3 protein expression.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC-p): Detection and localization of STAT3 in paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
- Immunofluorescence (IF): Visualization of STAT3 distribution in cells and tissues.
- JAK-STAT signaling pathway research.
- Cytokine-mediated signaling studies.
- Cancer and cellular signaling research.
- Developmental biology and stem cell research.
